Digital Realty
Trust, Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company owns,
acquires, develops, redevelops and manages technology-related real estate. The
Company’s operates through Digital Realty Trust, L.P. and owns a 97.8% common
general partnership interest. Digital Realty Trust, L.P. holds substantially
all the assets of the Company and holds the ownership interests in the
Company’s joint ventures. As of December 31, 2012, it owned 117 properties,
excluding three properties held as investments in unconsolidated joint
ventures, of which 92 are located throughout North America, 21 are located in
Europe and one is located in Asia. In March 2013, it completed the acquisition
of 371 Gough Road in Markham, Ontario (Canada), a 120,000 square foot data
center development property. In September 2013, the Company announced the
completion of the acquisition of a 15,000 square meter site in Osaka. (courtesy
